What your Family photo session with me will be like

Every family and session is different and I don’t have a one size fits all approach to your photo shoot. But, there a few things that I tend to do in most shoots.

We’ll get the classic group shots, the whole family together with the beautiful scenery in the background. Sometimes I do this right off the bat, sometime I do these shots at the end. It just depends on how you and your family are feeling, sometimes the kids need to run around a little bit first and sometimes we’ve got everyone's attention at the beginning and its an easy first shot.

We’ll do some movement prompts, I’ll give you a little direction and have you move around, easy things like walking toward the camera, a little slow dance, “look at the person who tells the best stories”. These are good for loosening up and getting comfortable.

If you’ve got little kids we’ll play some games. Things like red light / green light, racing towards the camera, find a cool shell, pine cone or rock and show the camera. This is fun for the kids and helps get some of those wiggles out, and makes for really fun candid photos.

Depending on the location sometimes we’ll switch up the background, nothing crazy just walk to a different part of the beach or meadow or trail to give you some variety in your photos and we’ll do a few or your favorite poses again just with a different backdrop.
